The sympathy for Kennedy by the TPM crowd

the outpouring of sympathy to senator kennedy is expected, and shared by me.

however, the lubricating bodily fluids being exuded, well, the contrast to the comments and behavior of the strongly obama favoring liberal blogoshpere as opposed to the venom and vileness directed at the clintons, and in part to those of us who supported hillary, it is striking.

ted kennedy was and is a lion for liberal causes...he is representative of an elite family....ok, fine....God bless him.

but, to pretend that ted and the kennedys represent anything new in politics is just insulting to anyone with a grade school education, hate to call bullshit on all you dreamers out there, but john kerry and ted kennedy do not represent anything new, just more of the elite liberal mantle...ok...

the clintons, by contrast, have been spit upon and maligned by the liberals, one glaring difference between the clintons and the kennedys...the clintons are not part of the washington or ny elite, despite their money, they will never be the elite family...thus ted, with his old politics, his destruction of one joan kennedy, the continuing saga of which can be viewed this date, with all this in mind recall the sleazy posts and discussions and comments about monica and the blue dress, from the obama stalwarts...oh, they hated that they could not trot out these nasty stories, and of course, they, and you liberal elitists did indeed dredge it up

now you weep crocodile tears for ted, who represents old politics as much as anyone, and the total lack of any sense of moral offense at your own excesses makes me want to gag

you pray or your prey on others, you fawn your attention and you despise your opposition, make them racists, representatives of the old politics, i mean, all that clinton stuff in the 90s was no good anyway, not compared to someone like reagan, who obama admires, or the kennedys, who give obama the cache of the ultimate of elitists....

i wish for the speedy return of the old lion to his roaring, but seeing as how i am old politics, no better than the gop in retrospect, and part of those who might think about the working poor in this nation, black and white, well, i am just passe

and when you are deemed passe by your prior affliations, well, then fine, i can find you passe as well, and can see right through all this spectacular back patting and self congratulations for your fellow soulmate in the new politics, which, as we left in our last episode, remains the territory of men...same as it ever was, and what a spectacular epitome of the dreams of the new politics, ted kennedy, a heavy drinking, womanizer, married, unmarried, who cares, but did you hear about the blue stained dress and that bill and hillary are racists...yeah, ok...goodbye and happy trails to you folks, its always amusing, if not edifying.

Everybody remembers that great speech Obama gave where he said, "That Clintons are the most evil people on Earth."  I think that was part of his victory speech after the Guam caucuses.  That's what clinched the nomination for him.

You are embarassing yourselves.  Hillary wants unity and is doing her part.  It's your turn.

I saw that one! (2.00 / 3)

Isn't that the same speech where he bit the head off of a live puppy and then promised to deliver America into the hands of our terrorist enemies?
/snark

Good grief.  Neither Obama nor Clinton have said anything terribly shocking in this campaign.  Both have made verbal missteps.  Supporters on either side have often blown things out of proportion and stirred the flames of hatred.  It is past time for all of that to stop.  Take a cue from your own candidate and remember who the real enemies are in this fight:  McCain and the neocons.

Peace

Which is the same reason that Hillary's speech about the woman dying from a lack of insurance was never a lie.  It was a misspeak, or a mistake, but it was never a purposeful lie.  I tend to think the Tusla story was not a conscious lie, either.

We can never know without clairvoyance.  I tend to give her a pass on the insurance story - it is tough to vet everything you hear.

Tuzla is a tough one though - more of a fish story than a lie, and really a harmless one - but hard for me to believe it wasn't conscious.

Re: The sympathy for Kennedy by the TPM crowd (2.00 / 3)

This is just stupid.  Look, if there were blogs in 1980, there would have been just as many things said against him as there have been against Sen. Clinton during the primary season.  Conversely, if either Clintons were rushed to the hospital with a life threatening condition, there'd be an outpouring of sympathy.  That fact that you can't see the difference in these two situations is pretty pathetic.

You know. I hear there was a funeral for a Democrat who died this past week. Very sad. But one of the Eulogists, an Obama supporter, said very nice things about this elderly local party leader.

Did this eulogy say anything nice about Hillary? No.

The same thing happened during the toasts at a wedding. I don't know whether the bride or groom had a horse in this race, but all the people who said they were a nice couple NEVER ONCE had something nice to say about the Clintons as a couple during the ceremony? Why not? Are the Clintons not worthy enough role models for today's elite, latte-sipping brides and grooms?

I heard a baby said its first words the other day. "Mama" and "Dada." Elite anti-Clinton baby could deign to spit out the name "Hillary?" Why do babies hate Hillary? Likely sexist pigs, I'd wager.

With Kennedy hospitalized, it's rather ghoulish, I must say.

With few exceptions, Teddy Kennedy has been a tremendous, liberal agent of change in Washington for decades.  He's the kind of lion who roared against invading Iraq.  It's no surprise that online liberals would prefer him to President or Senator Clinton.

Re: Tea & Sympathy (none / 0)

What's the problem with giving Teddy a little tea & sympathy?

After all, first he was called "old" by Obama, and told to "get some spine!"

And, then Teddy went out and called Obama OSAMA BIN LADEN.

Obama-Osama

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APx2YJ-_j os

Ted, Get Some Spine, and stand up to the Republicans!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlvJ8bA6_ xA&feature=related

So, there's no reason why poor Teddy Kennedy shouldn't get some tea and sympathy.

Remember, he nearly stroked out, and being a rich elitist, God knows, he doesn't need to worry about health care.

I disagree to call them liberals for Obama (none / 0)

Liberals overwhelming support Hillary.  That is the minor support Obama receives.  The only "liberal" support he receives are people that aren't paying attention to the issues and think just because he didn't vote for the war, he's more a liberal.  Not that he wasn't even in the Senate to have a vote, or that he spent the next 2 years voting to keep the war going.  And the other support he receives is from the Elites and the Conservatives.  Hense Pelosi, Kennedy, Frank Luntz, Frank Rich, Mo Dowd, Andy Sullivan, et al.

The real liberals, like Paul Krugman, all support Hillary, because they pay attention to the issues.

So, as a favor to us Liberals, I'd ask  you just change that to the "blogosphere", which is surely made up of a lot more than us liberals.  More likely the Elites who have more time to spend on their computers all day, instead of the working folk. :)
